SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS

SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS

Sustainability projects are an integral part of the EEC. Afterall, all the environmental knowledge and social awareness in the world will be for naught if it does not lead to action.

The EEC, independently, or in collaboration with multi-sectoral partners and local communities, engages in the conservation of valuable habitats and biodiversity as well as the preservation of indigenous cultures. Through volunteerism and/or participation of academic and corporate partners, the EEC’s sustainability initiatives start at grassroots levels and contribute the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Our maritime sustainability projects include conservation for endangered marine life such as dugongs, whale sharks, leatherback sea turtles, and more. We are also dedicated to reducing overfishing during key mating seasons, helping to find ways to subsidize any loss of income faced by local fishermen. Furthermore, we take pride in our work to restore and prevent further destruction of coral reefs a long Thailand’s coastline. On land, the EEC is directly involved in conservation projects for elephants, sarus cranes, gibbons, wild orchids and much more.

As part of our commitment to education leading to action for a sustainable earth, we also offer Volunteer Training Camps and Researcher-in-the-Making Camps throughout the year.

If you are you looking to volunteer or need an idea for a sustainability project, we have a collection that covers several issues relating to environmental conservation. Get to know all our sustainability projects here.
